Just fixed a lot of the sucky things about the bottom half of page 31. Small things – a badly-drawn wrist here, a eye-gouging coloring job removed there, and recoloring a couple of faces – but it looks much better now.
Here’s the before-and-after – or, rather, the after-and-before. This image is kind of backwards, because the top image is the newer version, and the bottom image is how it looked yesterday. Click on the thumbnail to see a bigger version.

My intention is to post a new page of Hereville every Thursday. Considering my past record, however, my advice to you is to wait and see how it goes. 😛

Here.
Incidentally, if you’re using IE, there’s a good chance this homepage looks like crap. I will fix that, but I decided to put off further work on the webstuff until I had actually finished a new page.
UPDATE: Broken link fixed. (Oy!)
I always hated the way the last five pages I drew looked – because, you know, it’s supposed to be the middle of the night, and I simply couldn’t get it to feel like night-time with the palette I had chosen.
So I’ve decided that there will be two palettes in “How Mirka Got A Sword”; the regular one I’ll use for most of the book, and the night one for scenes that take place more-or-less in the dark.
Recoloring didn’t take very long, since I just changed what the old colors were in the photoshop files. It would have been much quicker if I hadn’t started “fixing” things as I went along.
(Actually, part of me wanted to completely redraw all five pages, this time making the black-and-white art look a lot more like night-time, rather than relying on the colors to carry that load. But sanity prevailed).
I’m much happier with those pages now. Of course, the real trick is going to be drawing page 30. Stay tuned.
(You can follow this link to read the entire scene beginning on page 25).
I’m just now reworking the Hereville website, and haven’t yet finished remaking the home page.
But the good news is, the most important part of the website – the actual comic – is online. Page one is here.
I know it’s been a while since the last time I posted a new page of Hereville. Keep tuned – there may be new material soon.
